Ceramics Festival to open in Binh Duong in September

The country’s first ceramics festival will take place in Thu Dau Mot Town, Binh Duong Province from September 2-8, and is themed Ceramics of Vietnam – Tradition, Character and Development. This event, named Ceramics Festival Vietnam-Binh Duong 2010, is also meant to mark the 65th August Revolution, the National Day on September 2 and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The festival will honor craftsmen, and the traditional ceramic trade villages of Vietnam in general and of Binh Duong Province in particular, said Do Khac Diep, director of Binh Duong Province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Read more…

HCMC’s 2008 Spring Flowers Festival attracts 400,000 visitors

Lim Festival 2008 kicks off

The Lim Festival, where the folk songs Quan Ho are performed, takes place 18km from Hanoi in Lim village every year on 13th day of the 1st lunar month.

The festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors who go to enjoy the dialogue performances between “lien anh” (male singers) and “lien chi” (female singers), the country’s most skilled Quan Ho artists.

Vietnam, Mexico boost cultural, sports, tourism cooperation

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), Hoang Tuan Anh, visited Mexico from May 23-28 to strengthen bilateral ties in fields under his charge.

During the visit, Minister Anh attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Week in Mexico City and met with leaders of Mexico’s National Council for Culture and Arts (CONACULA), National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).
